Welcome to SparktheScience, a website that collects and assembles all the science articles I have written. As a science enthusiast, my goal is to encourage and generate excitement for science and technology in other people, and I believe the best way to do so is through clear, clean, and fun writing. This website will cover all topics from quantum computing to biomimicry, a personal favorite of mine. I hope you enjoy everything this site has to offer!
“The imagination of nature is far, far greater than the imagination of man.” ~Richard Feynman
Steven Park is a senior undergraduate student at Vassar College with a major in Cognitive Science and a minor in Computer Science. His primary source of entertainment is learning about something new and complex and then writing about them in a way so that anyone can understand it. As a science journalist, he sees science as the study of all things amazing and wants to explore the extent to which it can uncover. He also believes that anyone can find something awe-inspiring in science if they look hard enough and that it’s his job to make that search process a little easier.
He is the Opinions editor for The Miscellany News at Vassar College and has contributed science pieces to Boilerplate Magazine and The Genetic Literacy Project. His hobbies include ice skating/roller skating, badminton, basketball, cycling, and spending entire days in the library. After graduation, he plans on either studying bio-inspired robotics in graduate school or pursuing a career in science journalism. His life goal is to write at least one nonfiction book and one fictional novel.
